MCPS course discontinued

LARKANA, April 25: The College of Physicians and Surgeons Pakistan (CPSP) council has decided to discontinue the existing courses in MCPS (without FCPS-I) in all disciplines.

Dr Zia A. Siddiqui, the chief executive officer of Research and Training Monitoring Cell of CPSP in a letter to the principal of the Chandka Medical College asked him to stop admissions for MCPS training from April 30.

When this correspondent contacted Prof Sikandar Ali Shaikh, the councillor of CPSP and regional director of CPSP, Larkana, he confirmed the decision, and added all this had been done keeping in view the diminishing scope of the course.

He said now an intermediate module would be introduced and that the last examination for MCPS (without FCPS-I) would be held in March 2005.

The CMC principal, on Friday advised the aspirants to take admissions in the subject of their choice before April 30.
