LAHORE, April 25: Punjab Chief Minister Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi on Friday rewarded the national blind cricket team.
He announced the reward at a function held in the honour of the blind team that won the World Cup in India in December last year.
The CM announced Rs500,000 for the Pakistan Blind Cricket Council, adding five members of the team would be provided jobs.
PBCC chairman Agha Shaukat Ali asked the chief minister to allot a land for a stadium for the blind. The CM directed Lahore District Nazim Amer Mahmood to allot a five-acre tract for the purpose.
Meanwhile, Punjab Sports Minister Naeemullah Khan Shahani has announced that a play land would be built in front of the National Hockey Stadium at the Nishtar Park Sports Complex.
