TOBA TEK SINGH, April 25: A lumberdar and his accomplice accused of forcing a woman and her lover to ‘fornicate’ as a punishment claimed on Friday that they had been implicated in the case by their opponents.
Talking to newsmen, chak 345-GB lumberdar Khalid Shahid, a jury head, and Iftikhar Ali of chak 307-GB claimed that the FIR lodged with the Chuttiana police stated that they had kidnapped the woman and her husband and kept them for five days (from April 13 to April 18) at Iftikhar’s house. It was a documentary proof that both the complainants appeared before the district and sessions judge (as chairman human rights commission) in a petition filed with the Chuttiana police on April 16.
If both were in detention, how could they appear before the district and sessions judge, they said.
They said the Saddar DSP went to the village and held inquiry in mosque, but the opponents failed to prove the charge against them.
Meanwhile, the district and sessions judge has directed additional district and sessions judge to hear the bail before arrest confirmation application of the accused on April 30. He has also ordered the Chuttiana police to produce the case record in the court.
The accused had already been granted bail before arrest till April 30 by the sessions judge.
