Power supply to Kasur TMA severed

KASUR, April 25: Lesco disconnected electricity supply to the Kasur Tehsil Municipal Administration offices on Friday, fifth time in a month, for not paying arrears worth over Rs10 million.

Lesco has reportedly served several notices on the TMA, but to no avail.

It is also learnt if the TMA did not pay arrears, water supply to the whole city could be closed.

ROBBER INJURED: An alleged robber sustained serious injuries when his accomplices opened fire on a police squad near Jambar Khurd village on Multan Road.

Police said Ashiq was coming from Okara to Phool Nagar on his truck (FD-4988). When he reached near Jambar Khurd, four robbers snatched Rs2,200 in cash from him.

In the meantime, a police patrol passed from there. The robbers became unnerved on seeing the patrol and started firing on it. A bullet hit one of the robbers, Sarwar, injuring him seriously. When the police retaliated, the bandits managed to flee from the scene, leaving their injured companion behind. He was admitted to the Phool Nagar Rural Health Centre.
