KARACHI, April 25: Five ships carrying containers, chemicals and general cargo are due to arrive at the outer anchorage on Friday, according to KPT sources.

Cargo handling activity at the wharves showed a sharp contraction at 40,626 tons owing to lesser handling of liquid tonnage. The export tonnage of 20,807 tons comprised 2,533 tons of rice, 7,400 tons of naphtha and 10,874 tons of general commodities. The import tonnage totalled 19,819 tons.

Three ships, Express Kailash, Al-Manakh and Nikos were berthed on Friday to unload containers and to load naphtha after the departure of eight ships.

CMC Pearl, Al-Manakh, Eijin, Med Resolution, Rise, Al-Cyonida and Zadar departed while Oriental Bright, Wan Hai-305, Express Kailash and Nikos are due to sail out on Saturday.

The following ships are due on Saturday: Nur Yanbu, with chemicals, Multan, with general cargo, Kota Teraju, Ocean Genius, with containers and Trade Sawan with steel cargo.

KARACHI, April 25: Three ships, Francisca Schulte, Chemstar King and North Sea Anvil scheduled to load/offload containers, edible oil were allotted berths during the last 24 hours, says a PQA press release on Friday.
