PESHAWAR: Move to help cardiac patients

Published April 25, 2003

PESHAWAR, April 24: The NWFP’s health department will make necessary arrangements in the province’s hospitals for the provision of injections and medicines used to save the lives of cardiac patients who are brought in emergency after a heart attack.

This was decided at a meeting held on Wednesday morning, with Chief Secretary, Shakeel Durrani, in the chair.

It may be mentioned that these injections are routinely being arranged by the attendants of such patients on their own from the open market at exorbitantly high prices.

At times, these medicines are not readily available even in the market.
