PESHAWAR, Oct 2: The NWFP government has directed law enforcement agencies to take security measures around new refugee camps to be established at Zero Line of Pak-Afghan border, said a handout issued here on Monday.
The directive was issued at a meeting presided over by Governor Syed Iftikhar Hussain Shah.
The meeting discussed the law and order situation and focussed on possible influx of Afghan refugees.
It decided that all new refugee camps should be established at the Zero Line of Pak-Afghan border.
The law enforcement agencies were asked to restrict the movement of expected refugees to their camps.
The governor said that intelligence gathering work, done through a mechanism evolved by the provincial government, was satisfactory.
He was optimistic that, with the new mechanism, the government would be able to maintain law and order in the province in a better way.
