KARACHI, April 23: Wapda defeated Punjab 3-0 in the final of women’s event of the Ranking Badminton Championship at KPT Sports Complex Hall on Wednesday.

Except for doubles, Wapda almost secured a run over victory against Punjab.

Maira gave Wapda superb start by handing out straight games drubbing to Shagufta. Displaying allround court craft Maira lost just one point to emerge 11-0, 11-1 winner.

Shagufta failed to offer any challenge to Maira and surrendered meekly.

However, in the doubles Fouzia and Aneela extended Mudassar Shaukat and Saima before wining 2-1.

Mudassar/Saima gave testing time by snatching the opening game 15-12. But Mudassar/Saima pulled the next game 15-3 to draw level.
