KARACHI: Gadap SHO arrested
KARACHI, July 12 The station house officer of Gadap City police station was arrested on Sunday in the Sindh Taraqqi Pasand Party workers' killing case, in which the Sindh home minister, along with several police officers, has been nominated.
CCPO Waseem Ahmed confirmed SHO Malik Mazhar Awan's arrest, saying that the police had found some evidence against the officer.
“If we get evidence against others nominated in the case, the same treatment will be meted out to them as well,” said Mr Ahmed.
Sindh Home Minister Dr Zulfiqar Mirza, SP Gadap Rao Anwar Ahmed Khan, DSP Iftikhar Lodhi, SHO Sohrab Goth Nasirul Hasan and SHO Gulshan-i-Maymar Amanullah Marwat have been nominated in FIR 437/2009 under Section 302/34, which was lodged in connection with the killing of two workers of the Sindh Taraqqi Pasand Party at the Northern Bypass on June 10.
The FIR was registered on behalf of Ramzan Kalmati on court directives.
