Dacoits loot passengers, kidnap villager

SUKKUR, Dec 7: Armed dacoits blocked the Bagarji-Goserji link road and looted passengers and kidnapped a villager on late Thursday night.

The dacoits blocked the road and looted drivers and passengers. They also looted pedestrians.

When two of the pedestrians, Sardar Bux Maher and Gulsher Jogi, who were villagers, tried to resist, the dacoits kidnapped them.

Later, both police and villagers went looking for the dacoits. On seeing them, the dacoits opened fire and managed to flee towards the katcha area along with Gulsher Jogi leaving behind Sardar Bux Maher.

PPP ACTIVISTS: Dacoits tortured and snatched cash and other valuables from some PPP activists near Fidai Kalhoro village on Thursday night.

Dr Fida Hussain Mirani, Pakistan People’s Party youth wing provincial president, Shahan Mangi, divisional president, Larkana, Altaf Rind, and Shabbir Sangi were headed towards Larkana in a car when they were intercepted by dacoits who took them into the katcha area.

They tortured the activists there and set them free after snatching their watches, gold rings and Rs30,000 in cash.

JUI: Hundreds of JUI workers took out a protest rally in Jacobabad on Friday against the extension of the detention period of Qazi Hussain Ahmed and Maulana Fazlur Rehman for another 30 days.

Carrying banners and placards, the protestors chanted slogans against the government. They also staged a sit-in on Garhi Khairo and Larkana roads for an hour.

They demanded that their leaders be released without any delay.
