KARACHI, April 22: Sindh Minister for Local Government Mohammad Hussain said on Tuesday that most of the Nazims had pointed out certain lacunas in the LG ordinance that impeded smooth functioning of the district government system.
The Nazims belonging to Karachi and the interior of the province had during the meetings suggested amendments to the ordinance, the minister told a group of newsmen at his office.
“I had apprised the cabinet about the unrest prevailing among the Nazims and proposed amends to certain articles of the ordinance,” he said, adding that after discussing the issue the cabinet formed a committee to formulate its recommendations.
The committee consists of the Local Government minister; Law Minister Chaudhry Iftikhar Ahmed, Minister for Services & Works Arbab Ghulam Rahim, Finance Advisor Aftab Ahmed Shaikh, and the secretaries to the law and finance.—PPI
