ISLAMABAD, April 21: The Supreme Court on Monday issued notice to the Karachi Nazim-i-Ala and Sindh local government secretary to appear in person on Monday to explain why compensation to a petitioner was not being paid, despite clear orders from the highest court of the country.

The notice was issued on a contempt petition of Tahir Shaikh.

The apex court had directed the Sindh Katchi Abadi Authority and Sindh government to make payment to Tahir Shaikha at the rate of Rs200 per square yard. But the court orders were not implemented and the petitioner moved the contempt of court petition.

On Monday when the case was taken up for hearing, Sindh Additional Advocate General Suleman Habib requested the court to adjourn the case as both the Sindh government officials were not medically fit to travel

The court adjourned the case for a week only.
