KARACHI: Young man found tortured, shot dead

KARACHI, Oct 10 A young man, believed to be shot after being kidnapped and tortured, was found dead within the remit of the Kalakot police station on Saturday, the police said.

They said workers of a factory spotted a body early in the morning when they were coming to work.

Officials of the Kalakot police station reached the spot and found the young man shot dead.

He was believed to be killed somewhere else and his body thrown there.

“The victim, wearing black trousers and a light-green shirt, appeared to be in his mid-20s,” said an official at the Kalakot police station. He had sustained a single bullet in the forehead, but there were a few torture marks on his hands and the back.”

The police later shifted the body to the Civil Hospital. After registered an FIR (209/2009) under Section 302 of the Pakistan Penal Code, the Kalakot police moved the body to the Edhi morgue at Sohrab Goth, where it remained unidentified till late in the night.
