KARACHI, April 21: Sindh governor Dr. Ishratul Ibad has directed that work on projects of water supply be carried on an emergency basis.
Speaking at a high-level meeting at the governor’s house on Monday, he said that a consolidated programme by chalked out to stop wastage of water.
Moreover, sewage disposal, removal of solid waste and recycling of water be given due attention, he said.
During the meeting, an Australian delegation of investors and experts, headed by Derrick Webster, showed its interest in water supply projects and in other projects and apprised him of their expertise.
The governor said that keeping in view the future needs of water in the city, the existing setup of water supply required expansion, and if due attention was not given, it would create serious troubles in the coming years.
He also directed for timely completion of K-III Programme and Planing of K-IV, besides desalination and recycling of water. — PPI
