MANSEHRA, April 19: The chief executive of Peshawar Electric Supply Company (Pesco), Brig Tahir Saeed Malik, has said Pesco has completed Rs 35 million electrification schemes in Mansehra  district  in 2001-2002 and Rs4 million  more electrification schemes recommended by the Nazims would be completed by the end of June this year.

He was speaking at an open kutchery in the office of the executive engineer of the executive engineer of the PESCO here on Thursday.

He said the Pesco was taking all steps for solving the consumers’ problems and to provide electricity to the deprived areas of the province. He said last year 2500 new connections were provided to different areas of the district and 4000 more new connections would be provided by the end of June.

The Pesco chief said on the recommendation of  Nazims, store/material has been provided for 72 electrification schemes out of which 10 schemes have been completed and store/material would be provided soon for 23 more schemes.

He said Mansehra has been provided five spare power transformers to check casual power breakdown.

Brig Tahir Saeed Malik urged the nazims and the consumers to help the Pesco authorities in checking the power theft. He said that the Pesco had so far sent its 10 officials on compulsory retirement on power theft charges and two metre readers have been removed from service.
