MULTAN, April 18: Acting district Nazim and DCO Maj Azam Suleman has directed the Multan Industrial Estate Association to get itself registered.
He was presiding over a meeting of the industrial estate management committee on Friday. He said after being registered the association would run the affairs of the industrial estate without official patronage.
He said both Governor Khalid Maqbool and Chief Minister Pervaiz Elahi were taking keen interest in resolving problems of the Multan industrial estate.
He said funds were no more a problem for the uplift of the industrial estate after the CM’s Rs75 million for the purpose. He underlined the need of judicious use of funds and directed that first the sewerage system of the estate be completed and then would come the turn of its roads.
The meeting approved the proposal to give sewer line to SOS village through the industrial estate sewerage. The meeting also urged the industrialists to set up treatment plants at their respective units.
Salaries delayed: The city tehsil municipal administration has once again delayed payment of salaries to Wasa workers.
A meeting of Wasa Workers Union, TMA Mehnatkash Union and MDA Staff Union held here on Friday urged the authorities to find a permanent solution to the problem otherwise the workers would go on strike.
It was also demanded that the work-charged employees should be confirmed and the cases of moveover, promotion and selection grade be decided by calling a meeting of the departmental promotion committee.
