OKARA, April 18: Three women were raped on Friday in different incidents in the district.

A woman of Chak 52/D, was on her way to a nearby Chah Pippliwala village to see her grandfather. Near Baba Shah graveyard, Zahid along with his accomplices Irfan and Azhar intercepted her and bundled her into a car. They took her to some unknown place where she was allegedly raped by Muhammad Zahid for five days. On Friday, somehow she managed to escape and reported the matter to Deepalpur police.

A woman of Basti Noor Muhammad was going to her house when Shaukat Ali forcibly took her away to Noor’s house where she was raped while Niaz Ahmad stood guard outside.

Deepalpur police have instituted a case.

A girl was going to her house in Gulshan Fatima Colony when the area watchman forcibly took her to a house where his accomplice Khan Muhammad allegedly raped her.

CRUSHED: A young shepherd was crushed to death on Friday on the GT Road near Akhtarabad.

Two brothers Sarwar and Riaz were looking after their sheep when one of their sheep strayed on to the road. Riaz, who went to retrieve the sheep, was knocked down and killed by a Lahore-bound speeding bus.

Renala Khurd police are going into the matter.
