Jalalpur Jattan Sadar police registered a case after hesitation against Ghafoor, Constable Idrees, Anwar and an unidentified man.

The staff and students of the school boycotted the classes and came out on roads. Teachers from other schools and residents of Bazurgwal and adjacent localities also joined the protest procession. They chanted slogans against police for failing to arrest the attackers. They threatened that they would continue strike till the arrest of the accused.

A heavy contingent of police reached the spot and requested the protesters to disperse but they turned down their request. In the meanwhile, MPA Amir Usman Raza also reached there and the protesters dispersed on his assurance that the attackers would be arrested soon.

Sources in the DHQ Hospital told Dawn that Ms Kausar suffered multiple fractures and was still in a critical condition.
