WASHINGTON, April 17: US Defence Secretary Donald Rumsfeld said on Thursday that he does not think the United States is going to find weapons of mass destruction in Iraq.
Speaking at a Pentagon Town Hall meeting in Washington, the US defence chief acknowledged that UN inspectors also had failed to discover such weapons.
“I don’t think we will find anything. Inspectors did not discover anything and I don’t think we will,” said Mr Rumsfeld.
He, however, said the United States hopes to find people who were involved in making such weapons and can share their information with US officials.
“We will find people who can tell us where those things were,” he added.
