Burglar gets three-year RI

RAWALPINDI, April 17: The judge of family court, Shazia Zafar Raja, on Thursday awarded three-year rigorous imprisonment to a burglar. The convict, Mohammad Ali, was also fined Rs2,000 and in case he fails to pay it, he will have to undergo another two- month RI.

According to the prosecution, the Civil Lines police had recovered some valuables from the convict, which the latter had stolen from a house.

The same court also awarded two and a half years RI to another burglar. The convict, Shahid, was also fined Rs5,000 and in case, he fails to pay it, he will have to undergo another one- month RI.

Meanwhile, the judicial magistrate, Hasnain Azhar Shah, directed the district account officer to withhold the monthly salary of a constable of Ganjmandi police station, Mohammad Amin, for not appearing before the court to record statement in a narcotics case despite receiving the show cause notice. The court also directed the SSP to issue the arrest warrant of the constable.

The same court also issued the non-bailable arrest warrant of the SHOs of Ganjmandi and Banni police stations for failing to present the challan in a burglary case, despite receiving notices from the court.
