GUJRANWALA, April 14: Two persons were shot dead allegedly by rivals in Sherpur, Ahmadnagar, here on Monday.

According to a report reaching here, Basharat got abducted an FA student ‘F’ by his men some time back and raped her. He was arrested by the Ahmadnagar police when the then chief minister, Shahbaz Sharif, assured the victim that she would be provided justice. He was killed in an encounter with the police.

Later, Basharat’s brother Imdadullah killed two sons of their rivals, Mohammed Ali and Nawaz, in Verpal Chattha. The rival party shot dead Nazir, the father of Basharat, and his two relatives in an ambush some three years ago. Imdadullah was declared a proclaimed offender.

On Monday, some armed men shot dead Irshad, the father of ‘F’, and accomplice Nawaz.

ELECTRIFICATION: Punjab Health Minister Dr Tahir Javed has allocated a big share of his funds under MPA grant for the electrification of villages of Shakargarh tehsil.

He said this while talking to Gujranwala Electric Power Company chief executive Brig Saifullah Khalid here on Monday.

The Gepco chief told the minister that steps were being taken for the provision of electricity to these villages.
