SUKKUR, April 14: Four of the six escapees — who were freed from lockup of the Abad police station, Sukkur, by their associates on Sunday — have surrendered before the police.
Ramzan Chachar, Sabir Shaikh, Nawab Brohi and Baboo Shah surrendered after the police raided houses of their relatives and picked up about a dozen persons. Hajan Channa and Mushtaq Domki are still at large.
According to police sources, Hajan Channa, who was booked under section 372, had played a key role in arranging the attack. He had hired some outlaws, including Feeju Sangarni, Shabbir, and his cousin who was also identified as Hajan, to get him free and take revenge from an investigation officer who had beaten up Hajan after arresting him in a sodomy case.
Sources said when Hajan was tortured he called Feeju Sangrani, who planned the attack on the police station.—BoC
