JHANG, July 2 Nasir Ali Shah assumed charge as the first deputy district revenue officer of Athara Hazari tehsil on Friday.

Athara Hazari formally became fourth tehsil of Jhang district on July 1.

The revenue official's office has been temporarily set up at the highways rest house.

The new tehsil has nine union councils, making it smallest tehsil of the district. Other three tehsils of the district like Jhang, Shorkot and Ahmedpur Sial consist of 46, 16 and 13 union councils, respectively.—Correspondent
