RAWALPINDI, April 13: President of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) Sardar Muhammad Anwar Khan on Sunday urged Muslims to take concrete steps for the liberation of Kashmir.
Addressing the Ulema Mashaikh Conference at Mohra Sharif here on Sunday, it was clear from the recent events in Afghanistan and Iraq in what state were Muslim countries.
Sardar Anwar said they appear to be helpless and confused.
He lamented that no lessen was learnt from the Dhaka debacle in 1971 and Afghanistan in the recent past.
Stressing on the need to be self-sufficient he said: “We are as talented and capable as people but we lack unity and are occupied with non-issues,” he pointed out.
Education, economics, and science are gateways to a secure and prosperous future, he said adding, only financial independence can free the Muslims from the stranglehold of International Monetary Fund and World Bank.
“We have to improve the condition of the poor, observe merit, and reassert rule of law,” he added.—APP
