KARACHI, April 13: A large number of schoolchildren staged a protest walk against the US-UK invasion of Iraq and to express solidarity with thousands of children who have become orphans, disabled or homeless following the indiscriminate bombings by the US-led forces.

The march, organized by the Jamaat-i-Islami, began from Idara Noor-i-Haq to the Quaid’s mazar. The children were carrying banners and placards condemning the American strikes and killing of innocent people in Iraq. A large number of women also took part in the walk.

Praising the spirit of the young children, Qazi Hussain Ahmed, chief of the Jamaat-i-Islami, said the attack on Iraq was an attack on Pakistan and vowed that he and his colleagues would not to allow the US to make the current century into an American century.

He stressed the need for boycotting American and British products.
