KARACHI, April 13: Sindh Chief Secretary KB Rind has called upon writers and experts of electronic media to produce such programmes, which may help reform young generation through creating awareness among them about their religion country and humanity.
He said such efforts would also save the youth from negative repercussions of violence displayed by the electronic media, while speaking at a seminar on “Negative impact of electronic media on young generation” held by the New City Grammar School.
Mr Rind said that the PTV, since its inception, had been ignoring the moral and social education of youth, adding that confusion prevalent among youth could have been avoided if they had been properly educated about moral and ethical values.
He observed that films and dramas based on irrelevant and frivolous subjects had failed to create any impact on the youth, who were influenced by the negative affects of electronic media.
Mr Rind informed the audience that an effective policy was being evolved to develop meaningful and positive films and TV programmes for all segments of the society, including the children.—PPI
