LAHORE, April 11: The Lahore High Court on Friday asked the provincial health secretary to explain why the special quota reserved by the Supreme Court in the medical colleges for the admission of candidates coming from less developed areas had not been enforced yet.
The court issued these directions to Provincial Health Secretary Hassan Wasim on a contempt of court petition filed by 15 candidates hailing from Bahawalpur and DG Khan. The petitioners claimed that the SC had restored the special quota for the admission of candidates from the Federally Administered Tribal Areas, AJK and other less developed areas to the medical colleges.
