MIRPURKHAS, April 10: Thousands of telephone remained out of order here on Thursday as the digital system of the Pakistan Telecommunication Corporation, Mirpurkhas, suddenly collapsed causing difficulties to the subscribers.

The fault in the Mirpurkhas telephone circuit caused the Nation-Wide Dialling system to remain out of order in Sanghar.

In Mirpurkhas, Internet facilities also remained suspended as a result of the fault in the digital system.

The subscribers were compelled to make telephone calls from privately-owned public call offices, operating on wireless system, at higher rates.

Some officials at the PTCL claimed that a large portion of the digital telephone exchange had collapsed as the mercury had shot up.

The system was normalized at 6pm.

The subscribers demanded of PTCL authorities to order an impartial inquiry regarding the incident.
