KARACHI: Students get prizes

KARACHI, April 10: The college management committees can play an important role in raising the standard of educational institutions and in inculcating the values of our society in students.

The medals and prizes awarded to students for their achievements in curricular and co-curricular fields was a recognition of their intellect, which will also inspire others to compete and get recognition by their faculty.

The views were expressed by Prof Syed Mohammad Waseem, Principal of the Government Degree Science and Commerce College, Gulshane Iqbal.

Addressing the general body meeting of the CMC, the principal said that students were precious assets of the nation and joint efforts by parents and teachers could make them responsible citizens.

Earlier, Prof Irshad Ahmed Ansari of the NED University, who is general secretary of the CMC, presented the report about the performance of the CMC.

Others, who spoke on the occasion, were, Prof Talat Rafi, Fehmida Bano, Prof Khursheed Imam, Prof Dr Mahmood Alam, Prof Mehdi, Mr Abbas and Prof Saeed Chaudhry.

The students who secured first, second and third positions in the pre-medical, pre-engineering, science and commerce faculties were awarded medals while trophies were given for good performance in cricket tournament and 65 faculty members of the college were given certificates for under going a computer training course held in the college.
