SUKKUR, April 9: An under-trial prisoner, Saeed Ahmed, died in the Sukkur Central Jail on Monday.

The jail authorities said he had been severely ill since the last three days as a result of which he died.

However, his relatives alleged that the jail authorities had tortured him and had mistreated him.

His relative took his body and blocked the Minara Road for an hour in protest. Later, police dispersed the protesters.—BoC
