PERTH, Dec 4: International Cricket Council (ICC) match referee Jackie Hendriks fined Brett Lee US$4,290 — 75 percent of his match fee — Tuesday after the Australian was found guilty of breaching the ICC’s code of conduct.
The 25-year-old fast bowler’s fee for playing in the third and final Test against New Zealand at the WACA Ground in Perth is US$5,720.
Lee gave New Zealand’s Shane Bond an angry send-off, shouting at him to leave the field, after he had bowled the tail-end batsman for eight as the Kiwis declared at 256 for nine Monday, setting Australia a target of 440 to win the third Test.
He finished with match figures of 8-181.
