LAHORE, April 8: Twenty-six people have been arrested from Sabzazar for burning rubber and fat for the preparation of poultry feed.
District Coordination Officer Khalid Sultan said this at a meeting with Sabzazar Welfare Association office-bearers during a visit to the area on Tuesday.
The DCO said he had ordered construction of a boundary wall around the Bakkar Mandi adjacent to the Kot Kamboh slaughterhouse. He said he had also ordered expediting the construction of a modern abattoir in Shahpur Kanjran.
Talking to a delegation of minority councillors led by MNA Akram Masih Gill, the DCO said only Christians would be recruited to work as sanitary workers in future. He said the Muslim sanitary workers recruited after April 1 would not be paid salaries.
He ordered completion of the promotion cases of sanitary workers by April 15. He said the applications of sanitary workers seeking retirement on completion of 25 years of service would not be rejected in case they had completed all required formalities. The sanitary workers should submit their applications for retirement through the CBA union, he said.
