DERA GHAZI KHAN, April 8: The convener of district council has ordered an inquiry against the education EDO on charges of making illegal recruitments.
Sources said the house had adopted a resolution against the 47 illegal recruitments allegedly made by EDO Prof Khursheed. DCO Saqib Aleem was also accused of collaborating with the EDO.
Speaking on the occasion, district Nazim Alhaj Jamal Khan Leghari observed that a district Nazim could challenge the bogus orders of EDO and DCO under Section 18 of the Local Government Ordinance.
The Nazim also presented a resolution against MEPCO, which was unanimously adopted by the district council. According to the resolution, MEPCO had not been able to complete schemes of electrification despite being given the money required for the purpose.
He added that MEPCO was also demanding extra fee for electricity meters.
The DCO also came under fire for ignoring the directives and proposals of the Nazim. He was accused of violating the chain of command in sending lists of Baitul Mal beneficiaries to the concerned Patwaris for verification, when these lists had already been recommended by the union Nazims and finally by the district Nazim for verification.
The district council adopted a resolution to boycott American goods.
