KHAIRPUR, April 7: The Mosque School Teachers Association (MATA) has threatened to launch a movement against alleged deduction of money from salaries of teachers by the education department officials.

The decision to this effect was taken at a meeting of the MATA, Khairpur district, held here on Sunday

Speaking at the meeting, MATA chief Amanullah also demanded suspension of the ADO, education, Kingri taluka, and solution of other problems being confronted by the teachers.

Mr Amanullah said that Sindh government had always neglected mosque school teachers and taken decision harmful for them.

He resented appointment of primary teachers as resource persons instead of mosque school teachers.

He declared that highhandedness of “corrupt” officials of the education department would no more be tolerated.

He alleged that amounts were deducted from salaries of the teachers and the ADO of the Kingri taluka was creating problems for teachers.

Meanwhile, the Hawkers Association activists staged a sit-in outside the press club here on Monday against the levy of computer fee in the local high schools.

Some parents of school students also joined the sit-in to protest against the education officials.

Talking to journalists, the hawkers’ leader, Kafeel Ahmed, said that Rs200 to 300 were being charged in the high schools as computer fee but there was neither computer nor technical staff for computer training in the schools.

He alleged that on the refusal to pay computer fee, the students were threatened that they would not be allowed to continue studying at the schools.

He demanded of the school managements to stop charging computer fee.

Athar Siddiqui said that government of Sindh had announced scholarship for girl students but in high schools of the district, no scholarship was being offered to them.
