MINGORA, April 7: Swat district Nazim Dr Mehboobur Rehman has ordered the reversal of the recent transfers and postings in the education department, terming them violation of rules and regulations of the Local Government Ordinance.

An official statement issued here on Monday said that 171 schoolteachers had been transferred in the Swat district without taking the Nazim into confidence.

It stated that the transfer orders had been issued without consulting the elected representatives of union councils, education monitoring committee and district transfer and posting orders committee.

It was further added that the posting and transfer orders had created unrest among the teachers’ community and complications for the district government.

The Nazim has asked the authorities concerned to cancel the orders and follow proper rules and regulations in this regard.
