NAWABSHAH, Oct 10: A joint rally was taken out against the US airstrikes in Afghanistan by different religious parties here from Kabir Mosque near the city railway station in which around 500 people participated.

A large number of policemen and other law enforcement agencies were present to control any untoward incident.

The protestors were carrying placards inscribed with anti-US and pro-Taliban slogans and were chanting slogans also Pakistan government.

A group of charged protester set effigies of US president George Bush afire in different areas of city and outside Nawabshah press club where the rally ended.

The leaders of different religious parties including Sipah-i-Sahaba, Jamiat Ulama-i-Islam, Jamaat-i-Islami and Hizbul Mujahideen delivered emotional speeches before the participants.

ACCIDENT: A seven-year-old boy died when a truck hit him while he was standing at a bus stand in village Lakhat on Tuesday.

Saeen Dino was seriously injured when a truck hit him at Magsi Stop in village Lakhat.

He was brought to a hospital in Nawabshah where doctors pronounced him dead.
