SUKKUR, April 4: The government of Sindh is considering a proposal to raise a private force, called the Mazari Force, to be deployed along the border between Sindh and Balochistan to avert attacks of Balochistan outlaws in Sindh, informed sources said on Friday.

Senior police officials in Jacobabad, they said, had already been given a go-ahead signal by the Sindh government in this regard.

The police authorities, they said, were scrutinising a list of 300 people belonging to the Mazari tribe, who would be inducted in the force.

It has also been learnt that the Sindh government would provide the private force with arms and ammunition and also pay salaries and other benefits as well.

In a development related to the Kashmor killings, the DIG, Larkana Range, Bachal Sangri, suspended seven more police officials of the Kashmor city on charges of gross negligence.

Those, who had been suspended, were identified as Inspector Allah Bakhsh Qazi, ASI Saifuddin, police constables Ghulam Ali, Nawab Sangi, Inayat Hussain, Yaqoob and Saeed Ahmed.

Meanwhile, the newly-appointed DPO of Jacobabad, Din Mohammed Baloch and the DIG, Operation, Mohammed Ramzan Channa, who were reported to be busy in chalking out new strategy against outlaws in the Guddu rest house, were not available for comment in this regard.

BAR ELECTION: Maqbool Awan has been elected as the president of the Sukkur District Bar Association Sukkur by securing 160 votes against Mobeen Khan, who bagged 126 votes.

Qurban Malano was elected as its vice president with 149 votes, Shaukat Ayaz was elected as the general secretary by obtaining 134 votes while Naveed Shah was elected as the Association’s joint secretary with 126 votes.
