PESHAWAR, April 4: The Peshawar Electricity Supply Company (Pesco) has formed mobile teams to check power theft in the posh Hayatabad township and its adjoining residential areas.

Pesco has constituted the teams in addition to certain other measures to help control power theft in the provincial capital, says a press release issued here on Friday.

The power company has recently began a province-wide drive to bring down the ratio of line losses which stand at around 25 per cent.

The Peshawar Electricity Supply Company is installing new three-phase and signal-phase meters outside every house in Hayatabad and the newly-formed teams will check the meters of domestic consumers who use airconditioners.

The teams will also countercheck readings taken by meter readers.
