FAISALABAD, Dec 3: Dacoits looted cash and valuables worth hundreds of thousands of rupees and drove away with four motorbikes in different strikes here during the last 24 hours.

Four dacoits barged into shopkeeper Mian Tariq Shafiq’s house in Samundri, beat the inmates on resistance and took away cash, gold ornaments, a TV set, a VCR set and other valuables.

Robbers looted valuables worth hundreds of thousands of rupees from poet Irshad Omar’s house.

Meanwhile, two bandits drove away with student Bilal Ishaq’s motorbike (FDG-4099) in Madina Town.

Three bandits deprived local shopkeeper Saleem of his two-wheeler (FDR-5219) in the Jhang bazaar, police station area.

Bikes of Idrees and Kashif Naveed were driven away by bandits in Gulberg and on the Faisalabad-Jaranwala Road, respectively.

CHALLANED: Tehsil municipal administration on Monday challaned 60 butchers during a special campaign for selling unhygienic meat in various parts of the city.

The team also destroyed 1,200kg of meat and beef unfit for human consumption.

City Nazim warned the shopkeepers of a stern action if they continued selling substandard foodstuff.

ARREST WARRANTS: Faisalabad banking court has issued arrest warrants of All Pakistan Cotton Powerlooms Association former chairman on the charge of default here on Monday.

Farrukh Hameed Bhatti reportedly obtained loan from Habib Bank Limited in the name of Moona Textile Mills but failed to return the amount despite repeated requests by the bank.

Judge Javed Nawaz Chaudhry issued arrest warrants for the defaulter.
