LAHORE, April 2: The Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) announced on Wednesday that it would urge the UN to initiate action against the US and its allies for violating the international law by attacking Iraq.
SCBA secretary Sahibzada Anwar Hamid at a press conference also condemned the sanctions imposed by the US on Kahuta Research Laboratories. He termed the foreign policy of the Pakistan government on Iraq as a total failure.
According to him, the US and its allies had committed gross violation of both the UN charter and international law by exerting military aggression on Iraq and should be subjected to impeachment for this action.
“These countries are committing genocide and have violated the sovereignty of Iraq,” he alleged. A letter would soon be sent to the UN secretary-general for taking legal action against these countries on charges of international law violation.
The SCBA official also condemned the harassment of citizens by the local agencies with the active participation of the FBI.
He paid tributes to the people of Iraq for bravely defending the sovereignty of their country.
