LAHORE, April 1: Chief Minister Pervaiz Elahi has directed his cabinet ministers to hold ‘open courts’ in the PML House five days a week to listen to the problems of the common man and have them solved without delay.
A mechanism has been evolved to prevent the departments from using delaying tactics.
The ministers will stay in the PML House from
11am to 3pm on days assigned to them.
According to a press release, Law Minister Raja Basharat will hold open court on the first Monday of every month. Food Minister Chaudhry Iqbal, Akhtar Husain Rizvi, Mian Imran Masood and Chaudhry Zaheeruddin will perform duty on the subsequent four days, respectively.
Gul Hameed Rokhri will receive public complaints on the second Monday of the month. Dr Muhammad Shafiq, Manazir Ali Ranjha, Muhammad Sibtain Khan and Amir Sultan Cheema will be on duty during the following four days.
The panel for the third week of the month will comprise Rana Shamshad Ahmad Khan, Col Malik Anwar (retired), Khadim Wattoo, Dr Tahir Ali and Ajmal Cheema.
Every minister will perform the duty for a single day.
Those who will handle public complaints on the last Monday of the month are: Syed Raza Gilani, Haroon Ahmad Sultan, Dr Ashfaqur Rehman and Sardar Hasnain Dareshak.
Agriculture Minister Arshad Lodhi will remain in the PML House to make arrangements for these programmes. He will be assisted by Chaudhry Siddiq, Shaukat Abbas, Ramzan Bhatty and Rana Riaz.
