HYDERABAD, April 1: The Institute of Sindhology, University of Sindh, on Tuesday arranged an exhibition of photographs taken by Pir Hussamuddin Rashidi and of books published by the institute and the Sindhi Adabi Board, Jamshoro, to commemorate the death anniversary of the late historian.

More then one hundred photographs taken by Pir Rashidi at various historical places of Pakistan and other countries were displayed at the exhibition. Urdu, Sindhi and Persian books on history and literature were also displayed.

Speaking on the occasion, Vice-Chancellor Mazharul Haq Siddiqui, who inaugurated the exhibition, hailed the late Rashidi for his work on history and Sindhi literature.

He said the university would encourage young scholars to study the life and work of Pir Rashidi and promote objectives of the scholar.

Hussain Shah Rashidi said about 22 thousands letters and thousands of photographs of Pir Rashidi would soon be published.

Praising the work of the late historian, Shaukat Hussain Shoro said it was a valuable treasure of the history. He said young scholars should study his work.

KU DELEGATION: A delegation of teachers and students of the Shaikh Zayed Islamic Centre, University of Karachi, visited the University of Sindh on Tuesday.

The delegation members visited different sections of the Institute of Sindhology, Institute of Women Development Studies, Institute of Mathematics and Computer Science and the Institute of Information Technology.
