PO kills three

GUJRAT, March 31: An alleged proclaimed offender and his two unidentified accomplices shot dead his slain brother’s father-in-law, mother-in-law and brother-in-law over in Sheikh Sukha on Sunday night.

Sabir Husain and his family were asleep when Imran alias Sahib Butt and his two accomplices entered the house. They opened fire on them with automatic weapons as a result of which Sabir, his wife Razia and son Tariq died on the spot.

Their bodies were taken to the DHQ hospital for autopsy.

Police said the victims were in-laws of Imran’s brother Asif Butt who had been murdered some time ago.

Police claimed that PO Imran was involved in a number of cases of heinous nature. They said Sabir had refused to provide shelter to Imran who became infuriated and murdered them.

Sadar police station have registered a case against the accused and started investigations.

ACCIDENT: A pedestrian was crushed by a speeding bus on Sargodha Road near Nimazi Chowk in Kunjah on Monday.

Dilawar was crossing the road when the bus (SGB-3688) hit and killed him.

ROBBERY: Unidentified bandits beat up a man in Mungowal and drove away with his tractor on Sunday night.

Nazar Warriach was asleep at his outhouse when the robbers came there and demanded the keys of his tractor at gunpoint. On his refusal, they thrashed him, snatched the keys and took away the tractor.

TRANSFER: A head constable transferred back to Gujrat a week after his transfer to Narowal at the request of the Gujrat DPO, Dawn learnt here reliably here on Monday.

Sources said Head Constable Mirza Aftab Baig was transferred to Narowal by the range police DIG on the request of DPO.

They claimed that the head constable had good relations with some politicians.

However, they could not explain why and on whose orders the cop was transferred back.
