NAUSHAHRO FEROZE, March 29: The Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal on Friday staged protests to condemn the US-led attack on Iraq in various cities and towns of Sindh, including Naushahro Feroz, Badin, Mirpurkhas, Sukkur, Moro, Kandiaro, Tharushah, Mithiani, Bhirya and Mehrabpur.
Over 200 activists of the component parties of the MMA, led by its district president, Shabbir Khanzada and the district general secretary, Abdul Rehman Daugraj, took out a procession from the Tharushah Chowk, which terminated at the Allah Wala Chowk.
Maulana Daugraj called on Prime Minister Zafarullah Jamali to send willing youth to Iraq.
In Kandiaro, the district president of the JUI-F, Maulana Mohammad Idris Soomro, led a procession while Mubeen Khan Bhurt led another procession in Mithiani, the JUI-F’s taluka president, Mohammad Yusuf Lund led the procession in Moro, Qari Islamuddin in Mehrabpur, and Syed Iftikhar Shah led the anti-US procession in Bhirya.
BADIN: Amid mounting protests against the US-led invasion of Iraq, the MMA and the Sindh Shia Organisation staged separate rallies after the Friday prayers here.
Led by Zaheer Hussain Haideri, a large number of SSO activists took out a procession from Shia mosque, which converged with another procession at the Qatar Masjid.
They were raising slogans against President Bush and Prime Minister Tony Blair.

SUKKUR: Hundreds of the MMA activists took out a procession from the Jamia Mosque, Sukkur, which terminated at the Clock Tower.
Activists of the Imamia Students Federation also took out another procession from the Hydri Mosque in Old Sukkur, which ended at the Sukkur Press Club.
Syed Jafer Hussain, Abdullah Mohtre and others accused the government of not supporting the people of Iraq.
