ISLAMABAD, March 29: Judicial Magistrate Islamabad Amir Saleem Rana on Saturday awarded nine months rigorous imprisonment to a foreigner for violating visa rules.

The convict, Raza Ishtiaqi, was arrested by the Secretariat police under Foreigners Act. The court also ordered his deportation after completion of sentence. The same judge awarded 6-month rigorous imprisonment to Javed Masih in a drug smuggling case.

Javed Masih was arrested by the Tarnol police after recovery of charas from his possession.—A Reporter
