LAHORE, March 28: The Water and Sanitation Agency and the Ravi Paper Mills are among top 20 government and private defaulters of the Lahore Electric Supply Company who owed it Rs.834.64 million.
Lesco has disconnected the supply to its top 20 private sector defaulters who owed it Rs294.36 million and later restored it to one which cleared the dues. The default amount of the government departments has decreased from Rs1,070.11 million in 2002 to Rs540.8 million this year following recoveries.
Wasa, GE(A) Okara and MES have to pay Rs140.4 million, Rs126.35 million and Rs55.02 million, respectively. The defunct Metropolitan Corporation of Lahore, Punjab health and social welfare departments and GE(A) South Lahore owed it Rs45.12 million, Rs28.76 million and Rs28.42 million, respectively. The GE(A) South is a defaulter of Rs22.94 million.
Rangers, ministry of industries and production and Punjab police are defaulters of Rs14.19 million, Rs13.78 million and Rs11.32 million. Punjab Hospitals, GE(A) Sialkot and Cantonment Board and Walton have to pay Rs8.44 million, Rs8.01 million and Rs6.40 million.
Former Kasur Municipal Corporation, Military Dairy Farm and Punjab education department are defaulters of Rs6.28 million, Rs6.16 million and Rs4.01 million. Lahore Cantonment Board, National Highway Authority and District Coordination Officer owed it Rs3.91 million, Rs3.76 million and Rs3.67 million.
