PESHAWAR, March 28: The Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal set up 12 camps here on Friday to collect donations and relief goods for the people of Iraq.

Posters of President Saddam Hussein and banners inscribed with anti-US slogans were displayed at the camps.

Organizers said donation camps would be set up in other areas of the province and the tribal areas. They said the donations would be handed over to the Iraqi ambassador instead of any international body.

#JUI-F MEETING:# Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam (Fazl) held a protest meeting at Qissa Khwani Bazaar after the Friday prayers against the United States attack on Iraq and the killing of civilians. National Assembly member Qari Faizur Rehman Alvi, MNA Maulna Nek Zaman and other party leaders spoke to the protesters.

They said the United Nations and other organizations had failed to halt the US-led aggression on Iraq. They urged the Muslim countries to send their forces to fight the invaders with the Iraqi people.

They asked Islamabad to adopt a clear stand and categorically condemn the American military action.

They urged people to offer donations to the innocent people of Iraq and participate in the march to be held on Sunday.

They protesters marched from Qissa Khwani Bazaar to Chowk Yadgar and set effigies of President Bush and Prime Minister Tony Blair on fire.
