NAWABSHAH, Dec 2: Two phutti (cotton) dealers were kidnapped by four unidentified armed men near Sim Nullah, Jam Sahib, here on Sunday.
According to details, the two dealers identified as Daulat Ram and his brother-in-law Tejan Ram were going to Gupchani from their office at Jam Sahib in their car No. ABX-764. Another vehicle chased them. At Sim Nullah, the four men blocked their car, dragged them out and whisked them away in a Margalla car leaving the kidnap victims’ car behind.
Sources said that Daulat Ram is a brother of Dr. Chetan Mal, a cotton factory owner, and was carrying a huge amount of money with him.
Eyewitnesses said that police posted at Railway crossing offered no resistance and the kidnappers left the venue easily.
MURDER: A married woman, aged 18, was murdered by her husband in a village near Qazi Ahmed.
According to details, Shahida was murdered because she refused to become a ‘keep’ of her husband’s friend who is a big landlord of the area.
She was forced to drink pesticides by her husband Ghulam Sarwar and his landlord friend. The woman immediately died.
Police arrested Ghulam Sarwar, lodged an FIR and were searching for the other accused.
