KARACHI, March 26: The shipping companies and airlines have so far not levied any war risk insurance and fuel surcharge in view of Iraq war.
The special committee set up by the Export Promotion Bureau (EPB) in its third meeting held on Wednesday, after the outbreak of Iraq war again review the implications of the war on country’s exports.
The committee members contacted air and shipping lines to know about the latest changes, if any, in freight, bunker, and security charges as well as in their schedules. However, they were informed that no changes have been made in any of these charges or schedules.
Similarly, the shipping companies and airlines have so far not levied any war risk insurance and fuel surcharges except by Lufthansa.
