HARIPUR, March 24: The provincial government on Sunday barred Maulana Azam Tariq, MNA, from entering the limits of Haripur.

Maulana Tariq, the former chief of the banned Sipah-i-Sahaba Pakistan, was earlier allowed by the district government to attend a Difa-i-Sahaba conference held here on Sunday night.

In a telephonic speech aired at the conference, Maulana Azam Tariq lambasted the government for banning his entry into Haripur. He claimed that Mir Zafarullah Khan Jamali had become prime minister because of his vote.

He also criticized the leadership of the Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal.

In his speech, Hakim Ibrahim Qasmi, MPA, demanded that there should also be a ban on the entry of Sajid Naqvi into the province.
